much needed post

It's been almost two months since I've blogged. DAH! I used to be so good at this... but I guess when you're planning a wedding, time just seems to vanish. I've been thinking about blogging for about a month now, but I've been putting it off. dumb decision, really because that's just THAT much more to catch up on! I'll try not to make this a novel and just condense my last two months into a chapter. Can't make any promises though. And I'll also try to add a little bit of humor.

First off, I GET MARRIED IN 6 WEEKS! Yeah, it's gettin' down to the wire people! I can't believe how fast and how incredibly slow it's gone. Some days I say to myself, "goll, I wish I was just married. This is taking forever..." and then other days, like today, I think "HOLY TOLITO! I get married in 6 weeks and I'm not ready! I can't believe it's crept up so fast!" Oh, and my best friend gets married in 3 weeks. Now that's just crazy!

To celebrate my moms birthday my aunt, Lisa, mother, and I went to dinner and a movie. Winger's, of course. We had such a blast together. My mom and my aunt Shana are hands down the funniest people to hang out with. I don't think I've laughed so hard in my life. Lisa agreed, she said that's the most fun she's had in a long time. Here's a picture of us waiting in line to see Twilight.

For my birthday, Alex surprised me by getting off early from work and taking me to dinner.  Every night's a late night for him, so taking off work early to spend time with me made my birthday more special. He spoiled me at Red Lobster and then made me cupcakes with ice cream and whipped cream on top. DELICIOUS! He also took me to one of my favorite plays, "The Drowsy Chaperone." The Mystique Theater had it playing, and when I found out about it I hinted to Alex about once a week that I really really wanted to go. He got the hint, because he surprised me with tickets to go see it. I was one happy girl! I knew a few people performing in the play as well so it made it even better to watch it. His mission companion was also in it, so that made Alex pretty happy. A few days later my boss took all the employees to go and see it. I wasn't complaining, I love that play. If any of you reading this have a chance to ever go see it, DO! It's so great! And you know me, I just loves plays/musicals! It's my weird obsession.

Here's a collage of my birthday festivities. I also got together with my family at my grandparents and we had cake and ice cream. Such a fun birthday. Oh and did I mention how old I am? The big 24! I'm so old! I really feel like an old geezer. Honestly though, I'm not. 24 is a great age. And it's my lucky number, so I'm definitely going to have a good year!

Okay, so this was the coolest thing ever. I went to Aberdeen with Alex last month and we made sausage with the Funk's. I'm talking the whole shebang. I felt like I was at the butcher block or something. They had grinding machines, canners, a smokehouse, mixers, etc. Everything a butcher would have to make a butt load of sausage. It's a family tradition for the Funk's to make sausage every year. It's a long process, and so interesting. I've never seen anything like it. So after it's all made, they can it or freeze it, depending on which kind of sausage it is. This video will give you an idea of what we did all day.. SO COOL!

Alex got very ambitious when we were teased with a nice day back in March. He wanted to hoe the garden and get it ready to plant the end of April. It was quite a beautiful day, so I don't blame him. I think this year we will plant cilantro, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, onions, and peas. I may be forgetting a few other things, but that's the gist of it. He's pretty excited about his garden!

Here's the fun part, registering. When I walked into Bed, Bath and Beyond I thought to myself, "Oh no, this is going to be a LONG day..." Once we got started though, we had a lot of fun! We registered for all sorts of goodies and probably things that weren't really realistic, but what the heck! You never know what someone might get you. I had the gun most of the time, but once we hit the kitchen area Alex took over. He was GUN HAPPY! When I wasn't looking he was clicking away. haha. It was pretty funny. I think he thought I was going to get mad at him for getting dumb things, but in all seriousness I trust that he's not going to get something stupid or unreasonable. We spent over two hours there, which seems like a nightmare, but it was great!

Hit up the mall and Olive Garden once we were done registering. Our day was jam packed with things to do. We looked at rings for Alex and also looked at shoes for him. No ring purchase, but we did purchase some shoes. Alex was in dire need of them and we got a killer deal! BOOOYA!
Alex might kill me for posting these pictures, but I think they are pretty funny. This was at Olive Garden. I'm assuming he was bored..

HAPPY EASTER! What a beautiful day to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior! We went to church and then headed to Aberdeen to see Alex's family. Bronson made some Peruvian dish he ate all the time on his mission. I can't remember the name of it, but it reminded me of fajitas a little bit. It was steak, peppers, and onions fried in a sauce and then you put it over rice. NOM NOM NOM NOM. It was delightful. All the food was! We hung out with the family and watched Almost Heroes (HILARIOUS MOVIE), ate some plum pudding, and watched another good movie, Men in Black 3. It was an awesome weekend spending it will the people I love!

This picture was taken yesterday. I went over to Alex's before he went to work and I found him outside mowing the lawn. I decided to get crafty and take some pictures. I like this one. And look at the grass, it's green!
Happy Spring!

Here's some funnies to end my post, and hopefully it will make you chuckle.

Life is great. Life is beautiful. I'm happy. Can't wait to marry my best friend.
Peace and Blessings
