Funk, party of 3!

HOLY CATS! It's been a year and a half since I've updated my blog. I've been meaning to update, but it's taken QUITE some time to actually sit down and do it! I promised myself when I started my blog that I would be good at "keeping up" with it... well that didn't happen. I really need to change my background on my blog too, but I honestly don't remember how to do anything! Time to kick it in gear and get with it, because so many things are happening in the Funk household and I don't want to forget all these fun and exciting changes in our life right now.

First off, I'll make this one quick, but over spring break I had the opportunity to go to San Diego with my family!! It was a blast and we did so many fun things! Alex was not able to make it and being away from him for 10 days was HARD, but he was a trooper and let me go and have some fun! I'm so grateful for the opportunity to go and be with my family. LOVE THEM!

This past week Alex and I moved, once again. We had been living in a couples home while they were on a mission for a year and a half. It was a really good experience and it's been fun to be back in the ward I grew up in. One big bonus--no one living above you or below you! I can't believe the difference it made. It was so QUIET and quite nice might I add. We actually got another opportunity similar to our last situation and we are now living in another home house sitting. HOW LUCKY ARE WE!? The only stipulation with this house is that it is for sale. We could live here for a month or maybe another year! Who knows, but we jumped on the opportunity because we will be able to save A LOT of money by doing it AND we didn't have to switch wards. We love our ward and our callings. Alex teaches mission prep to the seniors during Sunday school and then we both team teach the sunbeams. I LOVE BEING IN PRIMARY! Those kids are the absolute best! Anyways, the new house we are living in now is down the hill from the other house we stayed in. Oh and did I mention it's right across the street from my parents? Some might say that would be awful living so close to your parents, but I love it. And I know Alex is fine with it too, or else i'm pretty sure we wouldn't have moved there in the first place. The really crazy thing about this house is that when I was a little girl about 8 or 9 I would dream about living in it someday. I remember writing in my journal saying "One day I'll live in the 'castle' house across the street!" My dreams became reality last week! How crazy is that?! We're excited for our new change and hopefully we'll get to stay here for awhile!

Probably the best and most exciting news we have is that we will be adding a babe to our family October 8!!!! We are thrilled! Some nerves, but mostly EXCITEMENT! I am now 16 weeks, which seems so bizarre because it feels like we just found out. It's flying by. We will find out next month if we are having a boy or a girl. CANNOT WAIT! The first trimester I was nauseous pretty much every day from about 6 weeks to 11 weeks. I never threw up (except once last week, weird!), but just did NOT feel good. Some days were better than others though. Here's a list of a few things I've been experiencing.

-Everything in the fridge stinks!
-The garbage is worse. The smell is multiplied by 100 and it's AWFUL! I gag every time I open it
-Tired! I will squeeze in a nap on the days I can
-Always hungry. Biggest craving-- re fried beans! El Heraderro is my best friend right now. Or anything Mexican!! But those beans always hit the spot! haha OH and I also crave ICE COLD POP!
-Every time I eat, I always get a bad aftertaste in my mouth. Like, REAL BAD! Has anyone else ever experienced that while pregnant?
-The bathroom calls my name all night LONG, I feel like I never get a good nights rest! Except, now that I'm in my second trimester I don't need to go as often.
-Pregnancy brain. It's real people. I forget everything!
-And like I mentioned above, nausea. Now that I'm in my second tri I still experience some sickness. Not as bad as the first tri though. Things are looking up (crossing my fingers and knocking on wood) and hopefully the sickness won't last my whole pregnancy!

Other than that, everything is AWESOME! We haven't shopped for any baby things yet. I think we will wait until we know the gender of the baby. Alex and I are so blessed and we're excited for the new adventure that awaits us! I'll be sure to update throughout these next few months!!

our announcement to the world!

15 weeks.
I don't know what angle is better so I took two pictures!

Peace and Blessings!
