Happy Halloween

It's Halloween . . . let the holiday season begin :) What better way to spend it? Having the day off . The salon is closed today . BOOOOYA . I've been spending most of my time with Alex, and we've been having a blast .

First off, Parachute, All-American Rejects, and Boys Like Girls concert in Blackfoot . It was quite the concert . Personally, I didn't care much for All-American Rejects . The lead singer was a psycho and looked a lot like "The Joker" from Batman . Even acted like him . . . creeeepy . I liked probably two of their songs and that was it . Parachute was pretty good, but they didn't sing very long . Boys Like Girls was my favorite . They really got the crowd involved and pumped .

squinty eyed Alex . He just got flashed . . . by the camera that is ;)

The classic Institute Halloween dance . To be honest, I used to really love this dance, but now that I've gotten older it's not near as fun as it used to be . I literally felt super old going to it . Just didn't quite cut it like it usually does . But we still made the best of it . Played a little pool and ping pong . Beat Alex twice might I add . I will carry that victory around as long as I can because I know that he'll beat me next time . So I have to enjoy the "DUB" while it lasts .

Alex dressed as Fez from That 70's Show . We even got brown paint to color his face with . CLASSIC . Jill thought he was a black man . I got a kick out of that because he really looked like one . Or just someone who had a really bad spray tan . I dressed as a tennis player . Real original, I know .

We carved pumpkins at our house last Saturday . The whole family came and partook of this great event that happens yearly . It was extreme chaos in the Coffin household . I'd say there were about 20 people there all crammed into the kitchen .

Our pumpkins . Humpty Dumpty and "pumpkin" .

We had another party to go to that night and once again we carved pumpkins . It was Alex's companion he trained on his mission, Nick Nelson . This time we decided to come up with our own logo that has mine and Alex's initials intertwined together . He created it, and it looked pretty darn sweet .

It's not Halloween without wicked TATS

So, I'm trying to be crafty . It doesn't come that easily for me . My sisters are very crafty and artsy. . . I guess I just wasn't blessed with that talent . My co-worker is having a baby in January and we had a shower for her . She needed burp cloths . . . well, I know my sister makes them and they are always super cute so I had Megan come over and help me make some . I didn't do too bad actually . All I had to do was make sure the burp cloths were aligned just right in the sewing machine and sew in a straight line .

Last Sunday Alex came over for dinner . Meeting the fam . Oh the pressure :) We had a great time and watched some home videos of when me and my brother and sisters were younger . We laughed a lot, because we were such goobers . The poofy bangs are what really killed me . Kathy sure liked to make us have 80's hair . HAHA . So great . Libby took a liking to Alex . In fact, she loved him . She kept saying, "Alex, please come play with me . Lets go cook some food ." It was pretty cute, and Alex played with her all night . She bawled when she had to go home and said over and over, "I want to play with Alex ." That girl loves that boy . But who wouldn't? He's pretty fantastic . We almost killed him that night though. . . My mom made a fantastic casserole that had cream of mushroom soup in it . Well, Alex is allergic to mushrooms . My mom forgot about that and didn't even think about it until later in the evening . We were sitting in the living room and she perks up and says, " Oh my gosh . That casserole had cream of mushroom soup in it . Are you okay Alex?! " (Now you must imagine my mom saying this . If you know her, you can picture it now I'm sure . She had such animation in her voice. It was funny) She felt horrible . Good thing he didn't have a reaction to it . Trevor said, "Jeez, Emily finally brings a good guy around and what do we do? We try to kill him . . ." haha . Oh and Harrison spilled liquid green soap all over his suit jacket . WHOOPS . All these accidents and unlucky incidents happening to Alex . He's still around, so I guess it wasn't bad enough to scare him off  ;)

Hello 1800's . I look like a pilgram in this picture . what the . . .

Life has been and is SO wonderful . Don't forget to be HAPPY and smile . OH, and give someone a compliment today . You never know who you'll effect .
Peace and Blessings mi amigos

A little bit of this and that

I think winter is officially CLOSE, if not here . No more sunny warm days . It's a bit of a disappointment for me . Today is the start of it all . RAIN . RAIN . and more RAIN . Extended forecast? Well , here ya go . Take a gander at that . . .

Saturday is looking promising :) Hammock time? I think so

Doesn't that look like pure bliss?

Had to throw a FUNNY in there .

Date night with this good lookin' fella . . .

A night of firsts for some . Hit up Winger's (which is my favorite restaurant, P.S.) . Had the best dressing ever with our salad . Cilantro Lime . Mmm, hit the spot . Deleta was our next stop . Oh Deleta . Super classy . It's a pretty happening place . . . for junior high kids and older men, mostly . :) No, but seriously, it's super fun . Never never had Alex ever been to Deleta OR roller skated in his entire existence of 23 years . That's some crazy talk right there . He was really nervous, but I told him he'd do just fine . And he did . Until he tried some moves that weren't up to his level of skating yet . First accident - trying to skate backwards . That there will land ya right on your can . hahaha it was hilarious . Second accident - slipping on a piece of ice and landing in the splits . ICE? Really? Now. that's just plain bad luck . Poor guy took a beating that night, but he still enjoyed it ( I THINK) .

Seriously thinking I should work at Pizza Hut, or Little Caesar's, or Papa Murphy's, or Digiorno's, or something because I swear I make Pizza's all the time now . I'm getting quite good . Okay, so all of that was an exaggeration . HYPERBOLE (still brushing up on my English skills haha) . This is only my second time doing it . But I'd say this time around my pizza was 4 times better than the last one I made, and that last one was good .

This is Tricia and Andrew's Pizza . BBQ chicken with purple onions and banana peppers . It was EXCELLENT .

Here's the group doing wonders . Max and Mikaela made a Supreme Pizza . Pretty similar to me and Alex's .

There's our pizza . Yeah, unfortunately you can't even see it . I struggled at tilting it just right . I'd have to say though, our pizza was the best tasting . scale from 1-10 . 11 for sure :) Bon Appetit

MOVIES, MOVIES, and more MOVIES . Watched a few movies this week that deserve a little spotlight .
Pitch Perfect . Okay, hands down, one of the funniest movies of all time . Music and comedy together can't be beat . Laughed so hard in the movie theater .

Wait Until Dark

Haha . What a creepy picture . Audrey Hepburn was the star of this 1967 classic thriller . Jill, Lisa, and I watched this at Lisa's last week . Trying to get into the spirit of Halloween . There's this one scene in the movie that gets me every time . I can't help but jump out of my seat and scream like a little girl . The movie really isn't that scary and is more of a thriller, but that one part is pretty scary . I think it's just because it's pretty unexpected . Well duh, that's how scary movies are though . Unexpected scenes . Anyways, it's a goody :)

Blast From the Past

I've never had the pleasure of watching this movie . This is one of Alex's family favs . Pretty funny .
"So anyhow this duck says to the clerk, "I'd like to buy this lip balm."  And the clerk says, "Will that be cash or a check?"  And the duck says, "Just put it on my bill!"
One of many funny quotes from that movie .

Lots more to come this week folks . Concerts and Pumpkin carving is on the to-do list . Can't wait . Loving life, and couldn't be happier . Don't forget to be happy yourself .
 Peace and Blessings .

blessedLY . blissfulLY . bashfulLY . beautifulLY .

This past week has been pure bliss . BlissfulLY Beyond Beautiful . Does that even make sense? haha, I'm not sure, but I like it . Nice alliteration huh? Just freshening up on my English skills :) Anyways, that's the best way to explain my week . In the words of Matt Nathanson,
" Everyday is the start to something beautiful . "
True statement . Everyday sureLY has been quite beautiful .

Poky High homecoming football game . The whole family attended and we got to watch some intense football . I miss the days of football games . My friends and I had some good times together . It was 6 years ago that my parents walked me down the 50 yard line as part of the homecoming royalty . Crazy how fast time has gone .

Blast from the past . I just had to post this picture . This was after the homecoming assembly back in 2006 .

My beautiful cousin Paige . GO INDIANS

Okay, how presh is this little munchkin? This picture is melting my heart right now :) Look at those stunning blue eyes . Love my niece Madilynn . So sweet

MODERN FAMILY? Don't mind if I do

MF is probably my FIRST favorite (Carmen, you'll appreciate that) TV show . I think it's hilarious . I can't get enough of Phil . He's so quirky and funny . Let's not forget about Cam either . Oh how MF makes my life . haha . Anyways, my friend Stuart was kind enough to let me borrow the first and second seasons of this marvelous show . Jill and I have been watching it and laughing our heads off . I've also been watching it with Alex . He had never seen it let alone heard of it before . Yeah, I was shocked . I just introduced him to some great stuff . And he LIKES it .

Olive Garden
Another one of my favorites . This time, I'd probably go with THIRD favorite :) But it's still pretty high up there in the ranking . It was Lisa's birthday on the 3rd of this month . I told her dinner was in order with some amigos . Our initial plan was to go to Applebee's in Pocatello, but after cancelling and rescheduling and then deciding to just not go at all Shalene had the bright idea to drive up to Idaho Falls and hit up Olive Garden . Probably the best decision made . It was a blast . Gabe and Chris joined us along with THE Brady Lawson . He brought along a friend as well . They drove down from Rexburg to meet us there . We had the best service . FREE dessert . Chelsea, Jordan, Meagan, and Julie loved us . They all sang happy birthday to Lisa and she was a bit embarrassed . But it had to be done . Thanks OG for treating us JUST RIGHT .

These girls are truly the greatest :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA :)

Love the first weekend in October . GC, fall hike, spending time with loved ones, oh and of course Jill Burnham's day of birth .

On Saturday, Alex, Max, and I made breakfast and watched the first session of conference . Homemade Biscuits and Gravy, Peppered Smoked Bacon, scrambled eggs with pepper jack cheese, and lets not forget Simply Orange Pineapple juice were on the menu . MmMmm it was delightful . Alex just whipped up these biscuits without a recipe . We didn't know how they would turn out, but they were divine . I came home after the first session to all my family . Brother, sisters, nieces, and nephew . It was fun to be with all of them . After the second session we made homemade carmeled apples . Such a fun fall activity :)

Hocus Pocus

Such a classic Halloween movie . It's a must see every October . Jill, Taylor, Alex, and I got together Saturday night and watched this together .

Biscuits and Gravy . AGAIN . . .
Sunday dinner was in order once again . Our plan was to make spaghetti and have pickled beets . Plans changed once everyone got to Alex's . Biscuits and gravy along with spaghetti . Odd combo, but it was fun to make it and we all enjoyed each other's company .

Alex has a nasty wig in his apartment, and I was feeling a little goofy so I decided to put it on . Lets just say that this next quote is fitting, " Buzz your girlfriend . . . WOOF . " Not looking in my prime that's for sure . Actually, I think I look a little bit like Velma from Scooby Doo .

Well, my friends, so long . Farewell . Over and Out . Wingapo Father . Peace and Blessings . Have a FABULOUS week : )

October already?

First off, where did September go? All I know is that once October hits I'm tuned into Christmas music . Don't judge . I quite thoroughly enjoy it . It's been a busy two weeks . Time for an update .

A couple weeks back Alex and I and Andrew and Milli went on a double date to Aberdeen . Shooting clay pigeons was just one of many activities on the agenda for the eve . With the first shot I took I shattered the clay pigeon . Yes, shattered . And might I add that I'm a horrible shot, so I was a little too excited about the hit . Alex hit one as well . Along with a bird . I think it was an Eagle or something endangered . . . ;) The rest of the night included a tour of his " Pinterest " home, the coveted green couch, hamburgers, music, pickled green beans, talk of chocolate covered raisins, and placed bets that were lost . Aberdeen is beautiful . The sunset was stunning and the stars were bright . Twas a very peaceful place .

Shalene and I had this bright idea once she moved back to Poky to have Sunday dinner with our friends . Get some good recipes from Pinterest and whip 'em up . We started this about 3 weeks ago and it has been a hit . Well, most of the time . . .

Does this picture look familiar to any of you?

MASH . THE GAME MASH . And yes, we played it at dinner last week . WoooWeee was this a popular game back in the day . We all had quite the uproar in laughter last Sunday . I'm pretty sure I ended up marrying Blake in the SLC Temple . Lived in a Mansion with a dog and no children . Living on a salary of $13,000 a year . Pretty realistic eh? Our latest Sunday dinner took place at Jill's . We had the high hopes of having approximately 10 people come . Well, only 4 showed . There was tons of good food with no one to eat it . OHH WELL, it was still fun and D .

I had another encounter with hair . Not cutting it this time, but coloring it . This will be the third time this year I've had these encounters . Maybe I chose the wrong profession? Nah . Alex lost a bet to one of his co-workers, so he had to color his hair BLACK . He asked me to do it . I said yes, but I was a bit hesitant . Going from blonde to black is quite drastic . I wasn't sure how he'd look . Quite frankly, I thought this might be a disaster waiting to happen . Thankfully, it wasn't. I did a fairly decent job, and he doesn't look half bad with black hair . I'll let you be the judge .

BEFORE

AFTER

My cruiser has been sitting in my garage all summer long with maybe one or two rides under her belt . I'll pass by her everyday thinking, " I'll ride you sometime this week . . ." Yeah, that never happened until the blessed day of last Friday . I took that beaut out for a stroll . Jill and I went cruising on a little bike ride . We rode on kirkham trail and through upper ross park . It was the perfect day for a bike ride . Not too hot, not too cold . All you need is a light jacket :)

Life long dream is to ride my Cruiser down the boardwalk in Virginia . Has not come to pass yet, but someday . Someday it will

Fall screams Zucchini bread . I made a few loaves this past weekend .

YUMMO

Years ago, my friends and I would gather at Dallan Parker's house every Sunday evening . It was tradition . We even went over there when Dallan was on his mission . Probably because we really loved Cindy more . . . Shh don't tell  ;) haha . No, but seriously, it was so fun and many great memories were made at the Parker residence . Last Sunday Jill, Alex, and I went over there . Cindy's birthday was just the day before, so I brought her some of my Zucchini bread . When I walked in and saw all of Allie and Carly's friends, memories flooded my mind of all the times we'd spent there . I almost felt like it should've been all of my friends there rather than theirs . It was so odd . Funny how different life is now and how fast time flies . But it was SO GREAT to be back there. We stayed and chatted until 11:30 . Just like the good old days .

So many more things have happened in these past couple of weeks, but there's just no time to add them all . But, life is good . I have so much to be grateful for .

Be happy .
Peace and Blessings .
